PostSubject: Garage/Barn Layout   Thu Jul 07, 2011 1:18 pm

Ok, parents are planning on building a garage in the back yard. 30x40 is what my dad wants. it will be 2-story with a yoga studio on the 2nd floor. the stairs and door for the 2nd floor will be sealed off from the garage area.
here is a current layout i made. has a 10' wide overhang on one side for the trailer. the lift is just a rough marking of how much space it will take. the workshop will have walls and an opening (no door) to the open area.

I would expand the workshop area a bit more, you could find that open area filling up in a few months.

It doesn't look like any of the layouts Nick made. Nor is the location correct. The front of this garage is in line with the front of the other garage. It just goes back into the woods a bit more. It's 48ft x 40ft.

no, over the garage part, it will be open, might put an attic for storage, but the lift needs 12' of clearance. on the studio side, it will be finished but have 12' ceiling with fans. the attic might be used for storage as well.
